hate being the generation that remembers no ads on YouTube & the annoyance when we first saw 1 ad every 10 videos, then 1 every 5 videos, then on every video, then multiple ads within a single video, only for YouTube to market paying for Premium™️ to ‘get rid of ads!’ which weren’t even there at the start
I hate being the generation that remembers when I could easily find episodes of anime and whole ass movies on YouTube.
Hate being the generation that remembers when YouTube videos would buffer when you pause them, allowing the entire video to load and let you watch it without interruption even on slow connections.
I remember when the preview image was a still from the video and not some photoshopped clickbait nightmare
palestine has very little international support but still "oh it´s so nuanced and complex we just cant know whether its right or wrong" is a popular narrative because the truth begins to be obvious to anyone with some basic knowledge of the region so they have to delude themselves into thinking it´s actually really morally grey or face the fact western powers have been backing genocide and apartheid for decades
It’s a Tree. There was a tree there. Folks cut down a tree, they usually don’t pull the roots, it’s like a Whalefall for fungus and burrowing invertebrates. They feast for decades.
It’s tree roots. I know that’s not cool and adventurous but I promise you it’s tree roots.
Ok so, yes, it’s probably not a body, and yes, it’s probably tree roots… but you live in Europe, it could also be an unexploded landmine. Please don’t walk over any weirdly lush spots of grass you see in a random empty field. Thousands of people die literally every year from mines and other ERWs; it’s always better to be safe than sorry.
Also this is more likely if you’re in the country (at least in the US it is), but even in urban areas, it could be a septic tank. Human waste is full of nitrogen, which plants LOVE. Properly treated human waste can even be used as fertilizer on purpose.
(Also: if something Iike this suddenly appears in your yard, PLEASE call a plumber. Ask me how I know.)
Anyone have that Ursula K. Le Guin quote where she talks about how much she loves Worf from Star Trek? I know I've reblogged it but tumblr search is no help ever
